What is AOC’s IQ? I keep seeing people online claim she’s either brilliant or unintelligent based on their politics, but has her actual IQ ever been published or tested publicly? Or are people just guessing based on whether they agree with her?
Why does everyone obsess over this? Her IQ has never been made public, and politicians don’t exactly release their test scores. Aren’t people just projecting their own biases? If you like her policies, you assume she’s smart. If you don’t, you assume the opposite. Does anyone actually have real data on this?
There’s no public record of her IQ. She graduated cum laude from Boston University with degrees in international relations and economics, which suggests strong academic ability. But IQ scores and political effectiveness are different things entirely. People need to stop using “IQ” as a stand-in for “I agree/disagree with this person.”
What competencies does an IQ score actually measure that would be relevant to evaluating a politician? The question assumes IQ captures something meaningful about political capability when it might be measuring an almost orthogonal set of skills.
We don’t actually care about the number, we care about whether someone deserves to be taken seriously. IQ becomes a weapon in legitimacy battles. The absence of a score doesn’t stop the debate; it enables it, because everyone can project whatever narrative serves their purpose. If you want to evaluate AOC’s political effectiveness, you’d look at legislation passed, constituent approval ratings, fundraising capability, media influence.
